The Curriculum & Assessment Department is pleased to share the Elementary Mathematics Parent/Guardian Flyer, created to support your child’s math journey at school and at home. Aligned with the Ontario curriculum, this flyer connects families with practical digital tools, quality learning materials, and positive habits to build math confidence.
What the Flyer Includes:
- Families have access to Board-provided tools, including Edwin for digital textbooks and hands-on learning tools, and Knowledgehook for fun, game-based math practice with helpful hints along the way.
- Students in Grades 4–8 can get free, one-on-one online math tutoring from Ontario Certified Teachers through TVO Mathify, while TVO Learn offers engaging games and activities to try at home.
- Children can make sense of tricky math ideas using visual whiteboards, virtual math tools, and interactive games on Polypad and Mathies.
- Parents can explore clear guides from the Ministry of Education to see what their child is learning in each grade, along with simple math activities for home.
- Families can discover everyday habits that encourage curiosity, steady practice, confidence, and treating mistakes as a normal way to learn and grow.
