On Thursday September 28th, over 100 members of our school community had the opportunity to attend the We Day evening celebration, compliments of one of our parents who was able to obtain extra tickets. Thank you!
One of our grade 7 students reports the following:
This years We Day 2017 was absolutely spectacular! There were celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson, Sabrina Carpenter, Hedley, Lily Singh, Rick Hansen, Penny Oleksiak and many more! Families were there to spread the message of doing good for the world, with the founders of We Day, Craig and Marc Kielburger. The former secretary-general of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon was also there to help spread the word of doing good. This year was the 22nd annual We Day. You may wonder, what is We day? We Day is an organization that helps children to get an education if they can’t afford it or if an education is not available where they live. We can all help by giving donations to local food banks or by visiting their website at www.we.org. By going on the website you can learn how your school, family, and even you, can make a difference in someone’s life. Remember everyone can do good even YOU!
